IMG_2651A website celebrating British tenor saxophonist Alan Skidmore’s sixty years in blues and jazz. The son of Jimmy Skidmore, himself a noted tenor saxophone player, Alan took up the instrument at the age of fifteen and has been at it ever since. His first professional gig was a year later, aged sixteen. John Coltrane has been a major influence on Alan’s music and many of his gigs and recordings reflect this.

You can see and hear Alan playing here.
